Did you know New Life Ministry Center has farm land of around 20 acres!
Recently, the Scales Family moved from rural South Carolina to Uganda to focus on farm ministry as a mission. This involves growing the production of the land to help with feeding students and hopefully the community. Purchasing seeds, supplies, machinery, and implementing new systems like irrigation are part of the future planning for this farm. If you would like to partner with us in this mission to reach the community through the farm, click here!
A little bit about the Scales Family:
We are a family of 5 from South Carolina. We own a farm there. We felt a call to missions a few years ago, not sure what that would look like for us, and after a lot of prayer, research, and making connections, we met the Actis Family, and they needed a farm manager! So we felt God’s call to Uganda to use farming as an outreach. The farm is located at the girls' school ministry. Around 12 plantable acres of land. Currently, we work with local Ugandans to grow maize, beans, and ground nuts. We have started to experiment with other vegetables like eggplant, zucchini, and watermelon. We hope to grow the farm output so that it can feed the students and the surrounding village! We use the farm as a platform to get villagers to work here as we do devotions, etc, to try to reach those who aren’t believers. We see a need to grow the farm and need tools like irrigation, tractor, etc, to grow the ability of production capacity we know this farm is capable of.
