Pastor Steven Trint Kkubolyabalamu was born on April 18, 1970, in rural Uganda, the youngest of twelve children. Raised in humble circumstances, he left school at age seven to herd cattle and make charcoal to help support his family. At twelve, an aunt helped him return to school, and by fourteen he was cutting timber after classes to pay school fees. His youth unfolded during a period of civil unrest in Uganda, when he often fled danger to avoid being forcibly recruited into rebel groups—yet he remained committed to his education, selling fish, peanuts, bricks, and cassava to survive and continue learning.
Pastor Trint later moved to Kampala for secondary school, where he gave his life to Christ in 1988—a decision that changed the course of his future. After enduring profound personal loss, including the death of his sister from AIDS and assuming responsibility for her children, he pursued technical training in building and construction at Uganda Technical College in Lira. While working in construction, he sensed a clear calling into full-time ministry. Pastor Trint married his wife, Rosette, and together they have eleven children. In addition, they have opened their home to more than thirty abandoned and vulnerable children from their community and beyond, providing care, stability, and hope to those with nowhere else to turn.
In 2001, Pastor Trint founded a church under Inter Christian Born Again International Ministries (ICBAIM) in Kampala. His ministry journey later led him to Toggo Village in Nakaseke District, where he noticed many children were unable to attend school. What began as personal sponsorship of a handful of students soon grew into a broader vision. That vision became Toggo Children’s Centre, built one classroom at a time as the need expanded, and later developed to include a secondary school.
In 2009, this work extended to the Gomba–Mityana District, where Pastor Trint established a second campus after witnessing similar educational hardship among children in the region. Today, Toggo Children’s Centre serves hundreds of students across both campuses, offering education rooted in Christian values and a commitment to community uplift. Pastor Trint currently serves as a pastor with ICBAIM Ministries Uganda, Director of Toggo Schools (Nakaseke & Gomba–Mityana), and Director of Yaaka Afrika.
