God is never doing just one thing.

The way God works continues to surprise me!
Before the GoMission Summer Internship started, I was going through all of the applications, reading about what each intern felt God was possibly wanting to teach them in the internship. The common theme I saw in most of their responses was the desire to know how to abide in Jesus. Little did I know God was going to use the whole internship as a way to teach ME what it means to abide.
Abiding was a topic that I was frustrated with for a while because there wasn’t any step-by-step “plan to abide” laid out anywhere that I could find! I thought, “How am I supposed to help these young people learn this if I don’t even know how to abide?” Turns out… God said HE wanted to teach them, He wasn’t asking me to teach them… and all I had to do was pay attention to how He was trying to teach me!
Leading this internship was so humbling. I was continually faced with the fact that I don’t have all the answers (nor do I need to have all the answers), and that the only thing that was required of me was to be with Jesus. God showed me, through many days of my trying to lead the internship out of my strength… that the best thing for me, any ministry that I’m a part of, and even just for the people around me, is to abide in Him. This required a lot of slowing down, admitting to the interns (and myself) that I don’t have all the answers, taking time to turn our eyes to Jesus, and listening to his voice.
I am still figuring out what it looks like to abide, but I am so thankful for how God has been humbling and teaching me through the things He has asked me to do. On top of it all, getting to learn this alongside the interns was a joy, and I am so blessed by how God used the team to challenge one another to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus! Thank you for your continued prayers and partnership. God is doing SO MANY THINGS, and I feel so honored to get to be here, participating in bringing Him glory in our city!
