CVSOM began in September with 21 students! We are now meeting at Mountain View Clovis Campus and we are excited to have this new classroom for our Class of 2026 Students.

We began our School year with the Old Testament Survey Course for 5 weeks, followed by a weekend Seminar “Seeing the World through Hebrew Eyes and are currently on our 3rd week of The New Testament Survey Course. The students read selections from each book in the Old Testament, along with selected readings from a Bible Handbook.  Their class assignment is to create an Old Testament Timeline from Creation to Malachi.  This is no small accomplishment !  What a joy to see the excitement in the student’s faces as they turned in their timelines.  So much is learned in this assignment.

Here is one student’s comment about their reading through the Old Testament:

“While studying through the Old Testament,  I have been learning that there is a bigger picture in the stories that we've read. There is strategic work in play. When I heard it explained that the patriarchs did not have it all figured out, they were just a family set apart for a bigger purpose and they fumbled around and messed things up just like we do. But they had faith. Faith that God was going to do what he said he was going to. Then we get to the next step in the plan where they become a nation/people and even though they have God leading them they are so stuck in old patterns of thinking that almost none of them could break out and live in the blessings that God had for them. God set them aside and showed them a new way of living that was completely different than everyone around them. When they live by the standards God laid out for them they flourish and live under God's blessings and when they don't, they suffer the consequences of the society they create. (just like us)”

Lights are turning on and the students are excited.  One student said “ I never knew how much I didn’t know!”  What a powerful statement.  We have many students attending this year because of donated scholarship funds.  Their lives will never be the same because of others making it possible for them.  We are changing lives, one student at a time, to advance the Kingdom of God!
